David Hahn is retiring as the head of B.C. Ferries on December 31, 2011.
A wake is a ceremony associated with death. Traditionally, a wake takes place in the house of the deceased. A wake means to “become or stay alert” about the dead person. A wake, however, can also be for a thing, a job etc. It is a grieving or mourning event and it does not necessarily have to be for something you love.
